About Us
“I’m very hands-on,” Katrina Parris told O, the Oprah Magazine, in a January, 2006 interview. “I want to create relationships, not just projects.”
At Katrina Parris Flowers, a florist in New York, we create floral art to suit our clients’ changing needs.
We feel that although you may initially use our services for our creative and unique design, you’ll keep coming back because of the quality of our work and the relationship you build with us. So, we invite you to get to know Katrina.
Q: Katrina, what’s your favorite flower?
A: Freesia. I love its simplicity, and its vibrant fragrant smell.
Q: What is your happiest moment?
A: Having my two boys, Nigel and Luke. Especially, bringing Nigel home from the hospital. Having been born two months premature, he required three months' stay in the neonatal care unit. An amazing 1st birthday party has passed and Nigel continues to fill my life with so many amazing moments.
Q: Name your most recently read books.
A: This year, I forced myself to take the time to catch up with things that I love, like reading. The book I’ve read most recently is: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Q: How does your flower business differ from your previous card business?
A: Essentially its the same: helping customers expressing their emotions. I majored in creative writing and I enjoy helping people find the write words or arrangements.
Katrina grew up in a suburb of Boston, where her early days of gardening with her father and the annual Easter lily bulb plantings were the beginnings of her love for flowers. Her experience and design skills were honed by studies at Brooklyn Botanical Gardens horticulture program, Parson’s School of Design and working with well established New York City flower designers.
Katrina Parris Flowers was founded in 2002 by husband and wife team Katrina Parris and Mark Pinn. It has been named New York Magazine's "Best Bet" and Citysearch "Top 10" Florists in New York City 3 years running.
